SOHI LAW GROUPDriving Offences
We have extensive experience defending all types of driving offences under the Criminal Code and the Motor Vehicle Act. They have successfully defended charges of impaired driving, reckless driving, hit-and-run, and driving without due care and attention.Driving Offences
For many people, driving a car is a routine and automated task in their daily lives. Operating a vehicle, on the other hand, is subject to numerous regulations, including federal and provincial statutes. Many people are aware that driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs is a criminal offence, but many are unaware of the serious and long-term consequences of being convicted of such an offence.
The law governing criminal charges such as operating a vehicle while impaired by alcohol or drugs, also known as drinking and driving, impaired driving, or DUIs, has been and is likely to remain a highly litigated area of the law.
Furthermore, in British Columbia, if you are served with an Immediate Roadside Prohibition, also known as an “IRP,” or an Administrative Driving Prohibition, also known as an “ADP,” your licence may be suspended or your driving privileges may be suspended.
It is critical that you consult with a lawyer as soon as you are served because these prohibitions have strict time limits for requesting a review. If you fail to meet these deadlines, which are usually 7 days after being served with the prohibition, you may be barred from submitting an application for review. As a result, it is critical that you consult with a lawyer as soon as possible.
